Hi Bakers!

I can’t believe we are already on our 5th and final day of Cookie Week! It wouldn't be cookie week without something gingerbread, and these spiced cut-outs with maple butter rum glaze are the perfect way to close it out.

If you think I like decorating cakes, then you probably aren’t surprised to learn that I love decorating cookies too. However, I know how much work it takes to decorate dozens of holiday cookies - especially when you plan to make several different types of cookies for the season.

Instead of painstakingly piping out each cookie design, I highly recommend dipping cutout cookies in glaze. This time-saving hack is the only way to go during the holiday hustle.

And just look how pretty they turned out! These glazed and glittered gingerbread cookies look elegant when in fact they are actually pretty effortless.

The glaze tastes incredible - so much more flavor than your standard royal icing. I prefer a thinner, slightly translucent glaze so you can see some of the cookie underneath. Depending on your mood, go heavier/lighter on the maple vs rum. A spiced rum would probably be really nice, if you have some on hand.
